What? | Goodnight War examines how and
why we support war in our everyday lives, through the framework of a
funeral. This evening-length dance performance integrates workshop investigations and the Eulogy for War series.
Live a cappella and folk music accompany seven
dancers and an ensemble as they move through the Sanctuary at Broad Street
Ministry, celebrating and mourning the
passing of war. The
ensemble is made up of singers and members of the Philadelphia
community. dance or performance EXPERIENCE IS NOT NEEDED to
participate. The ensemble will be part of shaping the performance
space, moving between the audience and the dancers. The movement is all
everyday movements like walking. See below for more details! |

Participate? | We are looking for at least 10 participants. Dance or performance EXPERIENCE IS NOT NEEDED. Participants will need to attend ONE REHEARSAL to learn the role and at least ONE PERFORMANCE. The dance is about 50 minutes long and participates should arrive one hour before the performance begins. Participants will receive a small stipend for rehearsals and performances.
